Organize your next practice session to get the most out of your time on the practice tee. Below is an example of one of my half hour practice sessions.
Body Warm up - Using dynamic stretches I spend approximately 5 minutes warming up my upper and lower body before all practice sessions.
(5 minutes)
Swing Warm up - With my sand wedge I spend approximately 5 minutes hitting balls with my feet together. I make three quarter golf swings with a medium tempo. This warm up is great for rhythm, balance and solid contact.
(5 minutes)
Swing Drill - Find a drill that is specific to what you're working on. For example, if you're having trouble maintaining your balance, try and hit some balls with your eyes closed. In between each ball that you strike, perform at least 3 to 5 program (practice) swings. If there's a training aid that is specific to what you're working on, use it.
(10 minutes)
Random Target Practice - Play golf. I now spend the next 10 minutes hitting shots to different targets each time using a different club. Each shot is performed as if I was playing a round of golf, so a solid routine is important during this part of my practice.
(10 minutes)
With one good half hour of solid practice per week, you are bound to see improvements in your golf game.
